iOS App (iPhone & iPad)
The iOS app uses the same pTreks concepts as the Web Application: Groups (communities), Treks (live events), real-time maps, and safety tools. What differs is layout (tab bar), terminology in a few menus, and workflows tuned for the phone (permissions, background GPS, biometrics).
| Concept (same on all platforms) | iOS where to find it |
|---|---|
| Community hub | Groups tab |
| Live outing | Treks tab → open trek → Check In |
| Live GPS on map | Automatic when checked in; typically stronger in background than browser |
| Billing & subscription | More → opens account.ptreks.com (see Account & Billing) |
Chapters
| Chapter | Topics |
|---|---|
| Getting Started | Install, sign-in, permissions, onboarding |
| Groups | Create, join, invite, members (same ideas as web) |
| Treks | Lifecycle, check-in, leader, participants |
| Live Maps & Tracking | Full GPS — primary platform for active treks |
| Safety & Emergency | Fall detection, ICE, in-trek alerts |
| Profile & Settings | Profile, notifications, safety settings in the app |
| Account Portal | Manage subscription & billing on account.ptreks.com |
| Help & Support | Help, FAQ, feedback, bug report |
